Tukwila Zoom Boom Ticket - Zoom Boom Training is intended to train operators on variable reach forklifts. The goals of the training are to impart an understanding of the physics of the machinery, and to be able to outline the operator's responsibilities. This course abides by North American safety standards for lift trucks. Zoom boom training and certification is available at the company's location or at our site, provided there are a minimum number of trainees. Certification received upon successful completion is good for three years.
A telescopic handler (likewise called a telehandler) is similar in some ways to both a crane and a forklift. It is a helpful equipment constructed together with a telescopic boom that can lift upwards and extend forward. A variety of attachments can be fitted on the end of the boom, like pallet forks, bucket, lift table or muck grab. It is popular in agriculture and industry settings.
Telehandlers are most usually used along with the fork attachment to shuttle loads. The units have the advantage that they could reach places not accessible to regular forklifts. Telehandlers can remove palletized loads from inside a trailer and putting them on high places like rooftops. For certain applications, they can be more practical and efficient compared to a crane.
When lifting loads which are heavy, the telehandler may experience some instability. As the boom is extended very far with a load, the machinery will become more unsteady. Counterweights in the rear help, but do not solve the problem. As the working radius increases, the lifting capacity quickly decreases. Several machinery come with front outriggers that extend the lifting capacity whilst the machine is stationary.
